Job Description: The City of Abbotsford’s Engineering and Regional Utilities department is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their dynamic team as a Trades II Electrician. This position is full-time on a temporary basis, until return of incumbent, approximately five months.
Duties: In this position you will perform skilled service and new installation work at the trades level. This may include:
• Installation of new electrical systems
• Maintenance and repair of water distribution, sewage collection, and drainage equipment, related valve systems, and connected telemetry
• Maintenance and repair of building electrical systems
• Maintenance and repair of streetlights and traffic signals.
Educational Requirements: To be considered for this position, you will possess the following:
• Grade 12
• B.C. Certificate of Electrical Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal.
• Five (5) years’ experience in the trade.
• Valid BC Driver's Licence.
Skill Requirements: The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building system components and related installations.

Considerable knowledge of all Codes and Regulations in regard to facilities, equipment, and safety along with experience in automatic controls and pumping systems is essential to the position.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $36.22 to $42.62 plus an additional 12.4% in lieu of vacation, benefits and statutory pay.
