Job Description: Are you a detail-oriented individual committed to exceptional customer service with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced, team environment? If so, we are currently seeking a Collections Clerk I candidate to provide temporary support during increased activity in our Revenue and Collections area from approximately May 2024 to October 2024.
Duties: As an Auxiliary Collections Clerk I you will complete cashier and clerical work in receiving, recording, balancing and processing receipts for a variety of City accounts and services and assist the supervisor in performing a variety of related clerical tasks. The work also includes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the public as the first point of contact for all public inquiries concerning taxes, utilities, property related information, and other matters to assist the Financial Operations division.
Educational Requirements: To be considered for this temporary opportunity you must have:
• Completion of Grade 12 or the equivalent
• Bookkeeping and computer software courses (word processing and spreadsheet applications).
• Minimum one year of experience performing cash receipting and clerical functions using computer software applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting focus from a recognized post-secondary institute is considered an asset.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $27.24 to $32.04.
