Job Description: The City of Abbotsford’s Engineering department is currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team for a two-year term as a Water Conservation Technologist.
Duties: The Water Conservation Technologist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of critical water conservation and efficiency programs under the direction of the Senior Water Engineer. They will work closely with the Water Quality & Resource Coordinator and other staff from the City of Abbotsford and the City of Mission. The incumbent will also develop and implement strategies to heighten community awareness for conservation and evaluate the effectiveness of programs on an on-going basis.
Educational Requirements: To be considered for this position you must have:
• Diploma in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent related diploma;
• A working knowledge of water supply and water conservation management issues, communications or public relations
• Five years of experience in the municipal utility or engineering field or equivalent.
• Valid BC Driver’s Licence;
• Eligibility for membership in the Association of Applied Science Technologists in environmental engineering or civil engineering.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $42.71 to $50.22 per hour.
