Job Description: The City of Abbotsford has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources professional to join our Human Resources team for approximately 18 months. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the Employee Services Advisor provides a diverse range of services across the City with a focus on managing full-cycle recruitment and employment services.
Duties: As an experienced HR generalist with applied knowledge in HR functions, the Employee Services Advisor will promote positive employee relations and employee engagement aligned to the City’s Mission, Vision and Values. Facilitate and participate in recruitment and selection responsibilities in a fast-paced environment to fill vacancies in a competitive job market for various City departments. Additionally, the Advisor provides guidance and direction regarding the interpretation and administration of human resource policies, procedures, collective agreements, employment standards and human rights legislation. As well, will provide support for other HR functional areas as required. This may include job evaluation classification work.

Educational Requirements: The ideal candidate will have the equivalent of a two-year diploma in Human Resources Management or related discipline; a minimum of three years of related work experience, preferably in Local Government and/ or a unionized environment. A CPHR or working towards obtaining the designation and municipal experience is an asset, as is experience working with Microsoft Office, a Human Capital Management System (SAP), an Applicant Tracking System and a Records Management System. Extensive knowledge of the labour market, with expertise in attracting and sourcing top talent in a variety of disciplines, is essential.
Salary: The salary range for this position is $93,966 to $110,856 per year.
