| Job Description: |
The City of Abbotsford's IT Department is seeking a GIS professional who is a self-motivated individual with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment to join our GIS team as the GIS Business Solutions Technologist.
Reporting to the GIS Business Solutions Coordinator, you will be responsible for addressing day-to-day GIS service requests and providing project support for developing, implementing, and supporting business solutions. You are also maintaining and evolving the City’s spatial and non-spatial data using best practices and appropriate software. You will be involved in developing and maintaining supporting documentation and providing administrative support for projects, citywide initiatives, or events to ensure high customer service.

| Duties: |
In this exciting role, you will participate in project teams and cross-functional groups to deliver new and ongoing initiatives and products. You will produce a variety of high-quality datasets, digital files, maps, sketches, graphic displays, and the publication of analytical reports. Your knowledge will allow you to support business activities in the creation/collection, and management of data, information, and analytics using a variety of software applications and tools. |

| Educational Requirements: |
To be considered for this position, you must have:
Diploma in Technology Management, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science or a related discipline combined with an Advanced Diploma in GIS;
One-year experience working with GIS and the development of cartographic, analytic and data collection solutions, using web services and applications, as well as developing user requirements and/or spatial information management standards;
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. |

| Salary: |
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $35.30 to $41.53 per hour plus we offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package. |
