The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our team of professionals in the Facilities Division. Reporting to the Facilities Superintendent, in this exempt position you will be responsible for the planning, design, construction supervision and project administration within the Facilities Department. You will oversee and manage projects, including preparation of tender documents, requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and other service procurement documents and contracts. The projects will vary and may include mechanical updates, building renovations, roof replacements, significant repair works and electrical modifications/upgrades. This position will assist in the annual capital budgeting process, draft reports to Council, respond to public enquiries, deliver presentations and conduct condition reports on related municipal infrastructure.

Your education will include a diploma in engineering technology or related bachelor???s degree, PMP or P.Eng. designation and three to five years of current relevant work experience directly related to managing and administering projects, preferably supplemented by experience with on-site construction and project management in a municipal environment; a combination of education and experience may be considered. With strong interpersonal skills, you are enthusiastic, well organized and able to communicate effectively with internal contacts, consultants, contractors and the public. You have good working knowledge of municipal regulations, policies, procedures and bylaws and thorough knowledge of the construction design process and construction administration. Extensive computer familiarity with proficiency in spreadsheets, database management, Microsoft Office and visual presentations is required. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and able to demonstrate excellence in leadership, problem-solving, analysis and implementation skills. Supervisory experience is considered and asset.

You must have at least one of the following valid and current certifications/licenses:
??? Registered member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC as a P.Eng. or eligibility for immediate registration
??? Registered member of Engineers and Geoscientists of BC as an EIT (plus minimum five years of demonstrated relevant experience)
??? Registered member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia or eligibility for immediate registration (plus minimum five years of demonstrated relevant experience)
??? Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (plus three to five years of relevant experience)

Security clearance for work at RCMP Buildings is required (not required as part of the application process, however, will be a condition of employment to obtain within six months of hire).

The rate of pay for this position is $54.41 - $61.20 per hour (2024 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, based on 37.5 hours per week.
