Job Description: The City of Abbotsford has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as the Airport Finance and Administration Manager at the Abbotsford International Airport. The Airport processed 1,000,000 plus passengers in 2019, and is well poised for growth in the recovery cycle. The airport has over 140,000 annual aircraft movements, which ranks in the top 10 busiest airports in Canada. Annual revenues, in 2019 exceeded $10 million and annual expenditures were approximately $5 million. The Airport is a key economic enabler for the region, and is home to a world class fixed/rotary winged aerospace cluster.

In this role, you require superior communication and presentation skills, along with thorough knowledge of applicable legislation. Keeping the Airport Authority Board up-to-date on the Airport’s financial performance, you will present the annual capital, operations and maintenance budget. In addition, you will act as a member of the executive team and contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s long-term strategic goals.

Duties: Reporting to the Airport General Manager, the Manager ensures alignment of airport budget and strategic goals by managing and controlling financial processes including budgeting, development of the airport capital program, preparation of financial statements, auditing, forecasting, variance analysis, determining airport fees and charges and purchasing, as well as supervision of the accounts payable and receivable functions. You will have a proven record of establishing strong, credible relationships as you work effectively with Airport Authority members, Mayor and Council, staff, Tenants and the general public on a variety of matters, including procedures, processes and protocol. You will also have a property management function, overseeing lease administration/compliance as well as developing leases, licenses, and operating agreements for all airport tenants and operators.
Educational Requirements: You will hold an accounting designation, complemented by a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management at a senior level, preferably in an airport environment.
