Job Description: The City of Abbotsford???s Finance, Legal & Legislative Services Department is looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to join their dynamic team as a Finance Clerk.This is an administrative support role responsible for the effective performance of diversified and moderately complex clerical duties, requiring good knowledge of departmental procedures and policies. The incumbent is accountable for prompt and accurate attention to the needs of the Finance Department to ensure that excellent customer service and quality assistance are provided to internal and external clients. Independent judgment and action are exercised in this position within departmental guidelines.
Duties: In this role you will prepare a variety of documents, as directed, including: reports, notices, letters, memos, agendas, PowerPoint presentations, etc. Be responsible for the administration of the transit ticket operation, including ordering inventory from BC Transit annually, ensuring an adequate supply; monthly distribution of tickets to vendors; collecting revenue; reconciliation of vendor accounts and ticket inventory; setting up new vendor accounts and providing direction to vendors to ensure accuracy and accountability of all tickets issued, sold and unused. Maintain the Letter of Credit database, process routine requests for Letter of Credit reductions and releases, and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain departmental records, including routine filing, compiling inventories, and preparing files for long-term storage, in accordance with Records Management policies and procedures. Answer the telephone; takes messages and responds to general routine inquiries, directing more complex inquiries to the appropriate staff member. Open, sort and deliver incoming correspondence. Performs other related duties as required.
Educational Requirements: To be considered for this position you will have:

??? Grade 12 supplemented by computer, business administration and bookkeeping courses.
??? Two years clerical and customer service experience including applying complex database and
spreadsheet software to a variety of accounting functions.
??? Valid Class 5 BC Driver???s Licence.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $24.09 to $28.33.
