Job Description: The City of Abbotsford is offering an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated enthusiastic individual with a high degree of initiative and the ability to think on their feet in a fast paced customer service work environment.

As our newest Corporate Information Clerk you will play an integral role as the first point of contact with the general public; and act as an ambassador on behalf of the City and the services provided by it. Located at a central information booth in City Hall, the successful applicant will provide front line customer service for the City and is required to consistently exercise courtesy, professionalism and diplomacy in dealing with the public in a positive and welcoming manner.
Duties: he Corporate Information Clerk dispenses pamphlets, brochures, maps and other materials of an informative nature to the public; maintains supplies, keeps records and files of resource material. This role liaises closely with all departments in maintaining current and accurate records of each department’s services, staff, procedures, etc. affecting information services provided to the public. As well this role processes incoming mail, preparing a variety of word processing documents, such as Council reports, agendas, minute shells, notices, letters, memos, forms, policies and procedures, committee lists, and newspaper advertising; photocopies and collates reports as required.
Educational Requirements: To be successful in the role you must have:

• Grade 12 or equivalent, applied computer software skills (word processing and spreadsheet
• A minimum of one year experience working as a receptionist in a fast-paced customer service-
oriented environment, including a minimum of six months experience using a multi-line
telephone system.
• Valid B.C. Driver’s Licence.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $22.79 to $26.81
