Water Distribution. As an integral member of the water distribution team, you will be responsible for overseeing and supervising a group of employees engaged in the operation, maintenance and construction of the City???s waterworks infrastructure. This includes pump stations, PRV stations, reservoirs, valves, hydrants, water mains, meters and services. You must have an extensive knowledge of waterworks standards and specifications, including Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD), American Water Works Association (AWWA), and the City's Development Bylaw along with considerable knowledge of materials, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and construction of waterworks infrastructure. Duties: Your previous supervisory experience will assist you as you plan, schedule, coordinate and assign work to your team. You will utilize your knowledge of safety regulations and standards to implement and maintain safe work practices and procedures. Educational Requirements: As the ideal candidate you have: ??? Completion of Grade 12 or GED; ??? Completion of the following post-secondary courses: Introduction to Public Works Operations; Municipal Plan Reading; Valve Operations and Maintenance; Water Pump Station Operation and Maintenance; and Supervisory Skills course. ??? Minimum 5 years' experience in the operation and maintenance of a water distribution system, including supervisory experience. ??? EOCP Water Distribution Operator Level IV. ??? Occupational First Aid Level I Certificate. ??? Valid WHMIS Certificate. ??? Valid Class 5 BC Driver???s Licence. Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $35.59 to $42.26 per hour in additional to our comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
