| Job Description: |
You will be responsible for monitoring the day-to day operation of the aquatic facility and the aquatic guards including the lifeguarding and instructional programs and the operational and maintenance work of staff and volunteers in the pool area. |
|
| Duties: |
Reporting to the Recreation Leader - Aquatics, you will assist with the supervision and mentoring of the aquatic guards including deck supervision, rotations/roving, class instruction, daily maintenance, rentals and activities and also ensure sufficient staffing levels are maintained. |
|
| Educational Requirements: |
The successful candidate will be a high school graduate (or recognized academic equivalent) and will have completed a recognized supervisory course. You will also have at least one year of related experience combined with experience in lifeguarding, training and supervising staff in a recreation environment.

| Skill Requirements: |
You will hold current National Life Guard Service (NL), Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer (IT), Lifesaving Instructor (LSI), National Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, Aquatic Supervisor Trainer (preferred), SEE Auditor, Pool Operator Level 1, Emergency First Aid, CPR certifications and possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License. Fluency in more than one language is an asset. |

| Salary: |
The 2020 rate of pay for this CUPE position is $29.10 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package including the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP). |

We also offer a 9-day fortnight schedule (extended hours for nine days and one day off every two weeks). |
