The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Manager, Green Infrastructure Services to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division.

Reporting to the Director, Development Services you will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of management professionals and lead the Green Infrastructure Services Department applying your creativity, breadth of landscape architecture knowledge and experience in close collaboration with the Development Engineering and Development Planning Departments. Thriving in a team setting, you will supervise and participate in the orderly and efficient processing of development applications with respect to tree protection, landscape requirements, open space systems, wildlife habitat and greenways, ensuring the integration of development and related processes with existing and proposed infrastructure for the development of a sustainable community.

Leading a landscape design team, you will exercise considerable independent judgment, action and initiative. You will develop and administer policies, procedures and priorities; develop and administer approved budgets; and, work with Community and Policy Planning to provide key input to the development of neighbourhood plans. In addition, working closely with staff in other Departments and Divisions you will promote, encourage and provide for the translation of broad goals and objectives as outlined in the municipality???s Sustainability Charter, to practical applications as part of development proposals. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the landscape architectural direction of the six largest and fastest growing municipality in Metro Vancouver.

Your qualifications include strong academic credentials with a post secondary degree in landscape architecture or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years related work experience in a supervisory role. You have thorough knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, and have been involved in progressively more responsible and innovative project management positions in a parks design, landscape architecture or urban planning environment preferably in both the public and private sectors. Professional designation or eligibility for professional designation, in Landscape Architecture or a related field is required.

You have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, are well organized, decisive and able to communicate effectively. You are a consensus builder, politically astute, fully conversant with the challenges facing a growing community and have well-honed report writing skills.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have a BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside.
