The City of Abbotsford???s Finance & Corporate Services Department is looking for a seasoned CPA to join their dynamic team as the Infrastructure Management Accountant. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Accounting, you will be responsible for ensuring the fixed asset methodology and system is current, linked with operational outcomes and aligned with best practices, in addition to performing the administration of related City financial records.

In this challenging role, you will utilize your specialized knowledge to administer the fixed asset program while recommending updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets. You will analyze and reconcile asset, liability and operating accounts and provide decision support for long term capital planning.

Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary as you prepare and present technical business documents and reports. Your demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to others who may not be familiar with the topic will be beneficial as you build relationships with, and gain confidence from your stakeholders. Your strong analytical and critical thinking skills will make you an asset to the team. Thorough knowledge of public body accounting practices and procedures regarding the preparation of financial statements, records and property taxation along with knowledge of tangible capital asset accounting practices, principles, procedures, policies and regulations will guide your success in this position.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

??? CPA Designation including a Bachelor???s Degree in a related discipline
??? Minimum of three years??? experience in asset accounting

This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $36.13 to $42.52 per hour (2020 rates).
