The Township of Langley seeks applicants on an ongoing basis to augment auxiliary positions for Recreation Facility Attendants to join our team of professionals in the Parks and Recreation Division. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, in this unionized position you will be responsible for overseeing the conduct of patrons during public skating and aqua-play sessions.

Responsibilities:
Waterpark/Aquatics
??? Knowledge of aquatics
??? Enforce applicable rules and regulations for the safety of all patrons and monitor the flow of patrons to ensure operational safety within the designated area and/or gate entry
??? Provide effective and positive customer service to patrons
??? Perform minor clerical duties and set up/take down for scheduled events or activities
??? Sell tickets for admissions and/or rental equipment and submit reports regarding accidents, injuries, loss of damage to personal or municipal properties
??? Maintain building security by opening up facility and locking up
??? Perform routine maintenance tasks and other related work as required

Arena
??? Knowledge of ice and recreation programs
??? Enforcing applicable rules and regulations for the safety of all patrons and monitor the flow of patrons to ensure operational safety within the designated area and/or gate entry
??? Provide effective and positive customer service to patrons
??? Perform minor clerical duties and set up/take down for scheduled events or activities
??? Sell tickets for admissions and/or rental equipment; submit reports regarding accidents, injuries, loss of damage to personal or municipal properties
??? Maintain building security by opening up facility and locking up
??? Perform routine maintenance tasks as required
??? Ability to skate will be considered an asset

Qualifications:
??? Your education will include Grade 10 or equivalent and some related experience
??? Successful candidates will have the ability to enforce guidelines for the safe operation of the designated area within the Facility
??? Some knowledge of aquatic, ice and recreation programs and related activities

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a police information check as a condition of employment (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).
