We are currently offering an excellent opportunity in our Engineering & Regional Utilities Department, for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with proven skills, knowledge and abilities as a Utility Person for our Sewers division.

This is semi-skilled and manual work in the repair, maintenance and construction of sewers infrastructure. An employee of this class works under the direction of a Sewers Works Supervisor or Tradesperson in establishing and carrying out repair, maintenance and construction duties in the sewers field. The incumbent will be required to maintain accurate records and inventories, and operate moderately large vehicles under varying traffic conditions. Performance is evaluated by a Sewer Works Supervisor or Tradesperson in terms of completion of scheduled assignments, adherence to safe work practices, technical expertise and effective performance of duties.

In order to be considered for this position you must have:

??? Grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
??? Completed post-secondary courses in sewers at a recognized institution;
??? A current Environmental Operator???s Certification, Level 1 (Wastewater Collection);
??? A minimum of 1-year experience in sewers;
??? Valid B.C. Driver's Licence Class 3 with Air and safe driving record (Driver???s Abstract will be requested).

This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay (2020) is from $25.48 per hour to $29.99 per hour. In addition, the City of Abbotsford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
