The City of Abbotsford???s Geomatics division is seeking a self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as a full time Business Solutions Technologist. As the City of Abbotsfords newest Business Solutions Technologist, you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the City???s spatial and non-spatial data using best practices and appropriate software. You will also be involved in the development and maintenance of supporting documentation and providing administrative support for project or City-wide initiatives or events to ensure high level of customer service. In this exciting role you will participate on project teams and cross-functional groups to deliver new and ongoing initiatives and products. Your knowledge will allow you to support business activities in the creation/collection and management of data, information, and analytics using a variety of software applications and tools. An ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines are essential to be successful in this role. To be considered for this position, you must have: ??? Diploma in Technology Management, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science or a related discipline combined with an Advanced Diploma in GIS; ??? One-year experience working with GIS and the development of cartographic, analytic and data collection solutions, using web services and applications, as well as developing user requirements and/or spatial information management standards; ??? A valid BC Driver???s Licence. This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $30.61 to 36.01 per hour plus we offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
