| Job Description: |
Our Parks, Recreation & Culture department is seeking energetic, hard-working individuals with an
excellent work ethic for seasonal work from now until the middle of September 2019.
Seasonal labourers assist in parks and cemeteries operations and maintenance including: grounds and
building maintenance; gardening; pruning; fence repair; lawn maintenance; brushing; gravesite
preparation; playground maintenance, trail maintenance and construction, field and irrigation system
installation and maintenance; minor repairs and construction and related tasks. |

| Duties: |
You must possess the ability to work well independently and in a team setting, and possess excellent
interpersonal and communication skills. You must be skilled in the proper and safe operation of a
variety of hand and power tools, and equipment and machinery common to general construction and
maintenance work. You must possess a valid BC driver???s license with a clean driving record.
You must enjoy working outdoors and have sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination
required to perform heavy manual labour in all types of weather. |

| Educational Requirements: |
As the ideal candidate, you will have recent experience in general construction and maintenance work
including parks operation and maintenance tasks and you will be working towards a certificate in parks
maintenance or a horticulture education program, or possess other relevant post-secondary education. |

| Skill Requirements: |
You will have knowledge of and experience with industry-relevant equipment, tools and applicable
safety and health standards. The 4-day, 9-hour shifts (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) will vary including weekday and weekend shifts. |

| Salary: |
The 2019 hourly rate for Seasonal Labourers is $29.25 plus 12.4% in lieu of all benefits. |
