The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Communications Coordinator to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Administration Division.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, you will be responsible in this position for coordinating the compilation and publication of communications information and materials for a portfolio of internal customers. The position is responsible for developing promotional materials, collecting information, conducting interviews writing articles and press releases, and posting to social media and the website. It may also include leading or collaborating on other related communications projects. You will work with in-house or contract staff on text and lay-out of materials such as brochures, catalogues, websites and newsletters, and other related work as required. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.

Your education and experience include a university degree in communications or a related discipline plus sound related experience or graduation from a diploma program in journalism, communications or public relations, and considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You have the ability to coordinate public relations and promotional activities and collect and research information to prepare various types of promotional materials.

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have a valid and current BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside. You must upload a current Driver???s Abstract (select the 5 years??? option if obtaining online) that has been obtained within 6 months of the closing date below with your application. The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $32.25 - $37.97 per hour (2019 rates) plus benefits. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
