The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a temporary full-time (from approx. February 4, 2019 to approx. December 24, 2020) Filming Clerk to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Administration Division, Filming Department.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Economic Investment and Development, you will be primarily responsible in this unionized position for providing information and assistance to a variety of internal and external contacts and assess individual film company requirements. The successful candidate will receive, review, and process filming applications in accordance with filming guidelines, establish additional terms and conditions of permits, including validating routine exceptions to bylaws, and ensure that insurance and permit requirements are met. You will assess the impact of filming on neighbourhoods, recommend appropriate restrictions on filming activities, and determine the risk of damage in order to establish the amount of damage deposits. The successful candidate will conduct neighbourhood exit polls following filming and maintain the filming related website information and statistics. This position will refer complex applications to a superior for authorization or denial and recommend changes to policies and practices and filming guidelines. Your education will include completion of grade 12, and considerable knowledge of department procedures and rules and applicable bylaws and regulations governing the work performed. Two years of office experience, preferably in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of training and the ability to process a variety of enquiries including providing information and assistance in interpreting applicable bylaws and departmental policies, practices, and procedures. The ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees in processing a variety of enquiries, complaints and related matters is required.

BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside. The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $28.55 - $33.60 per hour (5 steps, 2019 rates), plus 13% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
