The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to 2 auxiliary CPIC Operator - Clerks to join our team of professionals in the Protective Services Division; Records Section.

Reporting to the Manager, Police Services, you will be responsible in this unionized position for operating CPIC computer terminal via the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME); codes and type information and requests; monitor CPIC record transactions and entries; ensuring the completeness, currency and validity of CPIC files and records. You will also prepare, maintain, update, validate and revise a variety of files and records; amend and update CPIC manuals; contact various agencies, such as other detachments and Motor Vehicle Branches, for additional information; and provide CPIC orientation to other civilian staff, as required.

Your education will include completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by word-processing, commercial, PRIME and CPIC terminal operator???s courses, plus some clerical-typing experience, preferably in the Police Department; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in operating CPIC computer terminal equipment and the PRIME system; of the rules, regulations and policies governing the work performed; and sound knowledge of clerical and record keeping methods and procedures and of business English, spelling and arithmetic. You will also have the ability to perform computer terminal operational and clerical work; memorize applicable system codes and procedures and have the ability to deal effectively with detachment staff and outside agencies.

Enhanced Reliability Status required. (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $24.81 - $29.16 per hour (5 steps, 2018 rates); $25.31 - $29.74 per hour (5 steps, 2019 rates), plus 13% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work week.
