The Township of Langley seeks applicants on an ongoing basis for auxiliary positions as Cultural Worker VI ??? Arts, Culture and Heritage Instructors in various disciplines including Arts and Crafts, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Music, Theatre, Dance, Indigenous and Multi-Cultural learning to join our team of professionals in the Arts, Culture and Community Initiatives Division, Cultural Programs and Services Department. These auxiliary positions??? hours of work are varied, including day, evening and weekend classes. It is essential that the ideal candidate(s) have strong interpersonal skills, an ability to demonstrate and instruct, are enthusiastic, are well organized and are able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external clients/students.

These auxiliary positions will lead a variety of classes at various locations throughout the Township.

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12 and Basic Knowledge, Skills and Abilities in the specific disciplines is required, however dependent on level of instruction, and target age group for a specific program, course or workshop that the Township will offer, some of the positions will require candidates with diploma and/or degree in their specialty area.

Candidates may be asked for a portfolio of their work, examples of their art and craftwork or videos of their performances and demonstrations, if and when an interview is requested.

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a police information check as a condition of employment (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

The rate of pay for this position is $21.00 to $50.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience, plus 4% in lieu of benefits.
