We are currently establishing a firefighter eligibility list in our Fire Rescue Service to fill vacancies occurring over the next 12-18 months.

Firefighters are highly trained professionals, skilled in firefighting, rescue operations, hazardous material training, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents and other specialized services. Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service firefighters have the opportunity to develop their skills in specialty areas including:
??? Confined Space rescue
??? Heavy rescue
??? High-angle rescue
??? Hazardous materials

To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess:

??? Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
??? NFPA 1001 level 2 with Hazmat and Operations preferred.
??? Current First Responder Level 3 license or greater inclusive of Spinal Endorsement and AED. (EMR or PCP Licensing)
??? Current CPAT Certificate.
??? Valid unrestricted Class 3 B.C. Driver???s Licence with Air
??? A Commitment to volunteerism, community involvement, personal and professional development.
??? Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
??? Excellent public relations, team building and organization skills.
