Job Description: As Surrey has continued to grow, we have been giving a greater focus on keeping our City moving with investments in technology and multi-modal transportation projects giving strategic focus to the real-time management and operation of our transportation network. We are ready to make another addition to our Traffic Signals Team and are looking for a Traffic Signals Technologist to assist with Traffic Management and the implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems in Surrey???s state of the art Traffic Management Centre. RESPONSIBILITIES
???Knowledgeable in traffic signals, you will support the Traffic Signals Team in managing the safety and efficiency of our transportation network.
???You will work a shift in the TMC making use of our video wall, 420+ traffic cameras, Bluetooth sensor travel time monitoring system and central traffic controller software to make real time traffic signal changes with positive impacts to the public.
???You will conduct field reviews of traffic operations as well as inspect equipment such as traffic signal cabinets, cameras, radio based communication network and other devices.
???You will use your customer relationship skills to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, consultants, and internal staff.
???You will feel comfortable wearing multiple hats and switch gears between constantly changing priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered you will have:
???Completed a Diploma in Civil or Electrical Technology and exposure to relevant technologist work. OR
???Completed a Certificate in Civil or Electrical Technology supplemented by a minimum of 3 years technologist experience with a demonstrated record of technical knowledge, skills and ability or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
???Experience and knowledge in traffic signals and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems.
???A valid driver???s license with a safe driving record is a must.
???Directly related experience with another public sector organization or traffic signal contractor is considered an asset.
???The Traffic Management Centre schedule requires that the candidate be available for a regular, seven hour shift that would be between 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
