The City of Abbotsford is currently offering a full-time Water Utility Person position within our Engineering and Regional Utilities Department. The Utility Operations Division provides leadership in the construction, operations and maintenance of the City???s water, sewer, and storm drainage areas and Regional Utilities services (water and sewer treatment).

In this exciting role you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the City???s water systems including the repair, maintenance and construction of waterworks infrastructure. This skilled position requires a considerable knowledge of waterworks distribution systems, including mechanical and control systems needed to operate and maintain water pumping and storage facilities.

As the ideal candidate you must have:

??? Completion of Grade 12
??? Completion of post-secondary courses in waterworks at a recognized college, trades school, Environmental Operators or similar organization
??? A minimum of one year of experience in waterworks
??? Valid B.C. Driver's Licence (Class 3 with Air)
??? B.C. Environmental Operator???s Certification (EOCP), Water Distribution Level I.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $24.98 to $29.40. We offer ongoing personal and professional development opportunities, competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
