The City of Abbotsford???s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking an Arts, Heritage and Culture enthusiast to join their dynamic team as Culture Coordinator. In this exciting role you will bring considerable knowledge of current and emerging trends in the cultural sector, including diversity, public art, festivals, events and philosophy of arts and heritage. Your creative thinking and ability to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders will be beneficial as you provide oversight, planning and direction for the implementation of program plans, strategies and campaigns to promote community awareness, involvement and support of culture programs and services. Your strong communication, time management skills and ability to take initiative will guide your success in this position. As the Culture Coordinator you will work with your team, community groups, societies and other business partners to determine and incorporate the needs and interests to implement the City???s Culture Strategy. You will have the opportunity to coordinate the planning, the developing, and facilitating the implementation of culture programs and services through maximizing the cultural engagement community resources. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring revenues and expenditures, maintaining a variety of records, reports, and correspondence along with developing and revising policies, procedures and guidelines governing participation and performance in our culture programs. To be considered for this position you must have: ??? Degree in Fine Arts or related discipline. ??? Minimum of three years of experience working in a municipal or not for profit setting in culture, leading projects in collaboration with community agencies; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ??? Valid Class 5 Driver???s Licence. This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $31.19 to $36.68.
