In this exciting role at our International Airport we are looking for a self-motivated professional with proven skills, work ethic, and attention to detail. This position is ideal for a dedicated individual looking to expand their skills in engineering while learning about and supporting airport operations. A typical day will include technical and administrative engineering work, leading and assisting staff with work related to the design, planning, contract administration, and maintenance of airport infrastructure. In addition, you will be heavily involved in day-to-day operations, including Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, airfield maintenance duties, contractor coordination and assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing procedures to ensure the safety, security and ongoing efficiency of the Airport.

The successful candidate will enjoy a shift schedule of four days on, three days off to support the airport???s 24/7 operation schedule.

As our ideal candidate you will have:

??? Grade 12 plus a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution;
??? Minimum of two years related experience;
??? Eligibility for membership in the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C;
??? Valid, Class 5 B.C. Drivers Licence; and
??? Satisfactory Police Information Check.

Upon completion of your probation period, you will be required to have the following:

??? Class 3 Driver???s License, with air brake endorsement;
??? Restricted Radio License (ROC-A);
??? Airport Rescue Fire-Fighting certification ??? CARs 303 and CARs 323; and
??? Airside Vehicle Operator???s Permit (AVOP).

This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $32.76 per hour to $38.54 per hour (2018 rates) plus a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
