Our production spaces include two art studios and a ceramics studio. We???re looking for Visual Art Instructors to help us deliver high quality, professional programs to participants of all ages, and contribute to the development of contemporary artists and learning through art. RESPONSIBILITIES As a Visual Art Instructor, you will develop and teach classes, camps and workshops for preschool, children, youth, and adults. Reporting to the Gallery???s Visual Arts Programmer and Curator of Education and Engagement, you will be: ???Creating detailed lesson plans; ???Providing art instruction for classes, camps and workshops; ???Providing exceptional customer service to all Surrey Art Centre patrons; ???Ensuring the safety of participants; ???Working collaboratively with art educators, instructors, staff and volunteers to maintain the high-quality and professionalism of the Gallery. We???re looking for dynamic, creative and detail-oriented individuals with demonstrated knowledge and experience in art and art education. Our ideal candidates are effective communicators with good interpersonal skills and a knack for problem-solving. QUALIFICATIONS They must have: ???A degree/diploma in the area of visual arts, art education, or a related field; ???Previous teaching experience in art education, and a clear understanding of child development particularly in the areas of artistic expression; ???A current Emergency First Aid with CPR certificate ???ECE certificate and/or PDP Training (Asset); ???A valid class 5 BC Driver???s License (Asset).
