The City of Abbotsford is a growing, dynamic and diverse community with over 140,000 people. We are seeking a Manager to join our Property, Risk Management and Legal Services Division on a temporary basis, in the role of Legal Administrative Services Manager .
Reporting to the Director, Property, Risk Management and Legal Services, you will manage the preparation, drafting and review of draft City bylaws, policies and procedures and provide administrative and legal operations support to the Property, Risk Management and Legal Services Division.
In the role of Legal Administrative Services Manager you are responsible for coordinating with City departments regarding the content and scope of desired bylaws, policies and procedures and work with City departments to ensure they remain current. You will work with legal counsel to reflect desired regulatory and policy outcomes.
As the Deputy Chief Election Officer, the Legal Administrative Services Manager assists in organizing, planning and conducting General Location Elections and other voting.
You are a problem solver with sound judgement. You have experience as a hands-on leader and are comfortable with managing multiple priorities. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build credible and trusted relationships at all levels throughout the organization and City.
As the ideal candidate will have:
??? A Diploma in public administration, paralegal studies or legal assistant program, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience;
??? A minimum of three to five years of related experience;
??? Paralegal certification would be considered an asset.
