| Job Description: |
The incumbent in this class assists management to achieve an efficient operation within the Chilliwack RCMP Office through reliable performance in guarding duties, observing and complying with Municipal and RCMP policies and procedures; and observing and complying with safety practices.
The incumbent in this class will be required to perform a variety of guard, security and administrative duties, varying in degree of responsibility and complexity. |

| Educational Requirements: |
Must have previous experience in guarding or security practices - OR - the equivalent combination of training and experience. |
|
| Skill Requirements: |
-Must have completed a minimum of grade l0 education, with previous experience in guarding or security practices - OR - the equivalent combination of training and experience;
-Must have sound knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures used in the care and custody of prisoners;
- Must have and maintain qualifications for Level 1 First Aid;
-Able to understand written and verbal instructions in English and accurately complete required forms;
-Able to type a minimum of 30 net words per minute;
-Able to operate all equipment associated with guarding duties;
-Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with department officials and other members of staff;
-Able to effectively control and care for prisoners when detained;
-Able to recognize and rectify and/or report upon actual and potential safety hazards;
-Able to qualify for and maintain the required security clearance for the position.
-Must have up-to-date Hepatitis A, B and C inoculations. |

$23.43 to $27.57 per hour (2017 rates) |
