The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Communications Coordinator to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Administration Division, Corporate Communications and Events Department.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Administration, you will be responsible in this unionized position for content advisory services to support the communications needs for our Engineering Division which primarily is responsible for infrastructure assets, services and programs. In this role, you will be responsible content development, information compilation, collateral / promotional material development ??? both digital and paper, civic engagement and dialogue coordination, community outreach and awareness program development; planning and writing content for website and social media; designing & developing event plans, as well as working with staff on material design & lay-out. You will be involved in departmental strategies, policies, and procedures review and development. You will work on a team with other Communication Coordinators as well as Graphics Design Technicians. Your education will include university graduation in communications or a related discipline plus sound related experience or graduation from a diploma program in journalism, communications, or public relations and considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will have considerable practical experience in the communications and public engagement fields that reflects solid knowledge of principles, practices, methods, etc. You will have similar work experience in a communications capacity, preferably in a public sector / municipal setting. You must have the ability to work with minimal supervision; meet tight deadlines and changing priorities; and work on new initiatives. You must be proficient at communicating effectively orally and in writing to both internal and external stakeholders. You must be a confident self-starter and team player who is willing to jump in and help teammates, and have the interest and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. Records are equally important, you must have ability to prepare and maintain various records, reports, and materials related to the work.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $30.09 - $35.43 per hour (5 steps, 2015 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
