Job Description: The City of Surrey is looking to hire an Engagement Programmer tasked with carrying out a range of educational and administrative responsibilities for developing, planning, and implementing engagement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
??? Contribute to the innovation and growth of our institution through your contribution to recommending, researching, developing, scheduling, implementing, and evaluating engagement initiatives;
??? Work in a collaborative environment with a wide range of City Staff, contract artists, speakers and designers;
??? Assist with grant writing and facility operations as it relates to your area of work;
??? Work with the following programs:
o youth and young adult programs (Art Together and other pilot/new projects with mentoring artists, offsite art programs, youth digital art screening nights at UrbanScreen)
o Secondary School Programs (tours and workshops in the Gallery, special projects with mentoring artists)
o casual visitor initiatives (resources, tours, workshops)
o TechLab engagement projects (exhibition-related, special projects)
o events related to community-based exhibitions (artmaking with artists and art educators, talks, panels, receptions, parties)
??? Physical work including some heavy lifting.

QUALIFICATIONS
??? Degree/diploma in the area of art museum education, art education, art history, curatorial studies, or a related field;
??? Two years progressively responsible experience in developing, administrating, and presenting initiatives in this area of specialty, including supervision;
??? Emergency First Aid with CPR Certification;
??? A Valid BC Driver???s License;
??? An equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience may be considered.
