Job Description: The City of Surrey is looking to hire an Interpretive Programmer, who will carry out a range of educational and administrative responsibilities for developing, planning, and implementing exhibition-related interpretive resources, programs, and events.

RESPONSIBILITIES
??? Contribute to the innovation and growth of our institution through your contribution to recommending, researching, developing, scheduling, implementing, and evaluating exhibition-related initiatives.
??? Work in a collaborative environment with a wide range of City Staff, contract artists, speakers and designers
??? Assist with grant writing and facility operations as it relates to your area of work
??? Work with the following programs:
o Family Programs (Family Sundays, art parties, offsite programs)
o School Programs (K-12 tours, workshops, guides, resources, and professional development opportunities for teachers at the Gallery and in classrooms and at conferences)
o casual visitor initiatives (resources, tours, workshops)
o adult programs (artist talks, panels, symposia, events, and residencies)
??? Physical work including some heavy lifting

QUALIFICATIONS
??? Degree/diploma in the area of art museum education, art education, or a related field
??? Two years progressively responsible experience in developing, administrating, and presenting initiatives in this area of specialty, including supervision,
??? Emergency First Aid with CPR Certification
??? A Valid BC Driver???s License
??? An equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience may be considered.
