The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Instrument Person II to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division; Engineering and Construction Services Department.

Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, you will be responsible in this unionized position for performing survey work to collect the data required for the planning, design and construction of all municipal engineering projects; performing technical drafting Civil 3D assignments regarding field surveys, and planning the daily and weekly activities of the survey crew as needed.

Your education will include an Engineering Technician Certificate in Survey Technology plus some related experience, or an equivalent of training and experience. Ability to supervise subordinates, providing suitable training as needed for them; thorough knowledge of all aspects of municipal engineering survey work; and above average skill in the use of simple and complex survey instruments, equipment and computer skill is necessary. Civil 3D knowledge and registration as a BCLS or ASCT is an asset.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $30.09 - $35.43 per hour (5 steps; 2015 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am ??? 4:30pm.
