The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Community Recreation Manager to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture, and Parks Division; Recreation Facilities and Programs Department.

Reporting to the Director, Recreation, Culture and Parks, you will be responsible in this exempt position for directing the overall programming and operations of specific community recreation facilities, including arenas and aquatic facilities ensuring the facilities and programming are designed to meet the needs and interests of the community as well as developing and administering operating and capital budgets. You will act as a municipal resource relative to community recreation, services and facilities. The position entails considerable liaison with user groups, community organizations and the general public. The successful candidate will use independent judgment, action and initiative in supervising the facilities, and administering a comprehensive program.

Your education will include University graduation with a degree in Recreation, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years related experience including sound supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of community needs and interests serviced by the facilities; principles, practices and objectives of community recreation and cultural programs; rules, regulations and policies; including health and safety programs is necessary. You will also have thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures and practices used in the management and operation of various types of recreation facilities including arenas and aquatic facilities and have the ability to plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate directly or through others, the work of a group of subordinates engaged in operational and program activities.

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a criminal record check as a condition of employment (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

??? BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside.
