Job Description: Reporting to and supporting the Records Process Manager, this position works with staff on tasks related to corporate scanning, records management, confidential destruction services and supervises the Corporate Mailroom.

We are looking for a detailed oriented, high energy, customer service focused individual with the initiative and sound judgement who works well under pressure and with tight deadlines.

The Clerk Typist 4 performs varied higher level clerical work including composition of correspondence, word processing, and record keeping; explaining moderately complex departmental rules, practices and procedures to staff and provides administrative support to a busy, customer-oriented department.
Duties: As a Clerk Typist 4, you will:
??? Work within all legislated requirements and in consideration of the City of Surrey???s Corporate Records Program to achieve long range organizational goals using industry best methodologies
??? Perform records management duties as well as assisting other staff in the performance of their duties in the records centre and mail room
??? Assist in training City staff in records management and mail room processes as required
??? Provide assistance to external service providers, and will support the Records Manager in a variety of projects as needed
Educational Requirements: As the successful candidate, you will:
??? Have completed Grade 12 supplemented by several courses in word processing, office practices and advanced PC office applications, including Word and Excel
??? Have at least two years??? experience and training in an office environment with some supervisory experience
??? Have a Degree in archival studies, library and information studies, or equivalent experience would be considered an asset
??? Have an accurate typing speed of 60 wpm
??? Have An outstanding communication and inter-personal skills and ability to perform clerical tasks according to established department rules and regulations
??? Have four years of working in the Records management field would be considered an asset
??? Have Previous experience in high volume scanning and use of imaging equipment is ideal
