The term of this appointment will be from February 2017 to February 2018. Reporting to the Director of Park Operations/Chief Administrative Officer, the Community Events and Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating events. Duties: Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating events; receiving, reviewing and coordinating event applications; identifying opportunities for sponsorship and community engagement; conducting studies, preparing a variety of reports and correspondence and making recommendations regarding event policies and procedures; keeping abreast of changing event conditions and pursuing advertising; facilitating the training, coordination, and recognition of event volunteers; overseeing the maintenance of event equipment and supplies inventory; and preparing reports, presentations and marketing materials for events as required Educational Requirements: Post-Secondary Education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field plus three to five years of related experience in planning, coordinating and implementing special events and programs and supervising and managing volunteers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Skill Requirements: Experience preparing and maintaining a budget; Excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Office; Proven track record in grant writing; High Level of proficiency in designing marketing plans and promotional materials.
