| Job Description: |
This is an intermediate technical and administrative position providing support and assistance to senior staff in performing moderately complex technical work and associated administrative responsibilities related to road safety initiatives including safety input into multi modal transportation planning, design projects and traffic operations. |
|
| Duties: |
Applicants will be expected to do the following:
??? Technical duties in data management and analysis, project management, planning, reporting, and design for road safety work
??? Road safety work will include specific safety projects/initiatives and collaboration with other Transportation Sections on safety elements of other transportation projects
??? Work will include reviewing project designs, performing field inspections, undertaking technical assessment and responding to inquiries from internal staff, contractors, consultants and the public plus the collection and analysis of data
??? You will have a strong interest in road safety as well as all aspects of urban transportation including transit, walking and cycling
You must have superior organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; a sound knowledge and ability to operate computer equipment and software as applied to the work performed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, in particular Access and Excel.

| Skill Requirements: |
Applicants will be required to have the following:
??? Completion of a one-year certificate in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevant to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution with 3 years of engineering experience with a demonstrated record of technical knowledge, skills and ability or an equivalent combination of related training and experience; OR
??? Completion of a two year diploma in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevant to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution with exposure to relevant engineering work
