| Job Description: |
Headquartered in Chilliwack, B.C., the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the time-duration union position of Student I (Engineering and Community Services) effective May 1, 2017 to August 25, 2017. |

| Duties: |
The Student I (Engineering and Community Services) will assist the Engineering and Community Services team on specific projects within the FVRD Service Areas. Duties include research, preparation and maintenance of records, statistics, reports and correspondence; develop promotional materials; communicating with government organizations and agencies, private companies and consultants, and staff of other departments within the FVRD; and interacting with the public to discuss program initiatives. |

| Educational Requirements: |
This position would be well suited to students pursing studies in Civil Engineering. Candidates who meet the knowledge and skill requirements for the job are welcome to apply for the position. Candidates must be: (i) currently attending or enrolled in the next semester of a secondary or post-secondary educational program, full or part-time; or (ii) have attended full or part-time, in the last academic year. |

| Skill Requirements: |
The ideal candidate will have an affinity for organization and detail oriented tasks; excellent communication skills; ability to display tact and good judgement; have or quickly acquire good knowledge of civil engineering including reading maps and engineering drawings. |

| Salary: |
The wage rate for this position will be $16.51 per hour ($14.93 plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits). |
|
| Additional Information: |
The incumbent will be employed as a Time-Duration employee and will normally work 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch. The incumbent must be in possession of a valid Driver???s Licence.
