Challenge yourself in this unique and exciting role! Our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking a self-motivated and detail oriented Park Planner/ Designer to join our dynamic team. Your creativity, enthusiasm and proven leadership skills will make you an asset to the department.

The Abbotsford Parks, Recreation and Culture Department provides key services to the residents of our rapidly growing community. As the Park Planner/ Designer, you are responsible for the planning, design and development of parks and open space amenities for our growing community. Your considerable knowledge of landscape construction methods, design principles and practices and program management skills will make you an asset to the team.

Your excellent communication, relationship and problem solving skills, combined with a strong commitment to customer service and community development are essential in this position.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

??? A University Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning or related degree from a recognized educational institution;
??? A minimum of 5 years??? experience in the design and management of landscape construction projects from conception to completion; and
??? Experience or training in urban or environmental planning practices and procedures;
??? Registration in the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects or membership in the BCSLA as an Intern Landscape Architect with a commitment to become registered in an agreed timeframe;
??? A valid BC Driver???s Licence.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $38.10 to $44.81 per hour. In addition, the City of Abbotsford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
