Job Description: The District of Mission is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to work on a full-time, temporary basis (up to 1 year) in the Records Management area at the RCMP (Mission) Detachment.
Duties: In this position, you will be responsible for performing a variety of functions related to the maintenance of confidential RCMP operational files. This includes a wide variety of high-level administrative and clerical functions such as collecting, reviewing, maintaining, scoring and purging RCMP files in accordance with established RCMP and municipal policies and procedures; composing correspondence and reports as required; and responding to related inquiries.
Educational Requirements: As the ideal candidate, you will have recognized training in administrative skills, along with a minimum of two years??? experience working in a demanding, multi-tasking office within a policing environment. You will also be an advanced user of a variety of computer software such as MS Office, electronic document management systems, policing records systems such as PRIME, CPIC or JUSTIN, and accurately type a minimum of 60 wpm. Candidates must currently possess the designated RCMP enhanced reliability clearance.
Skill Requirements: You will have a good working knowledge of RCMP/police policies and records management practices. You must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, function as a team member, work calmly under pressure, and manage multiple activities to completion under tight deadlines. You must be able to maintain attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and to be courteous and tactful in a variety of demanding and difficult situations.
Salary: The wage rate for this position is $29.91 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work will be 8:00 to 4:30 Monday to Friday, nine-day fortnight (1 extra day off every two weeks).
