We have an exciting opportunity to add a Senior Energy Facility Operator to the growing District Energy Team. Surrey City Energy is an award-winning City-owned district energy utility that supplies high-density residential, commercial and institutional buildings in City Centre with heat and hot water.
District energy is a key strategy for the City with a goal of improving energy efficiency, reducing GHG emissions, increasing the resilience of our energy supply systems; and providing competitive and stable long-term energy pricing.

| Duties: |
The Senior Energy Facility Operator will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the City???s Energy Centre.
The successful candidate will:
??? Monitor controls and maintain Surrey City Energy systems, both automated and manual control systems.
??? Optimize economical and environmental performance and respond to alarms and diagnose problems as needed as well as responding to Surrey City Energy Customers.
??? Perform standard plant and building maintenance including equipment, repairs and replacing components.
??? Work closely with the manager at developing and updating operating plans and procedures as well as cost estimates for equipment maintenance and repairs.
??? Conduct regular water treatment testing and take corrective actions as required, while ensuring safe and efficient operations.
??? Be responsible to supervise and train staff.

| Educational Requirements: |
Applicants will have the following:
??? Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by a 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate
??? 5 years of related experience in the operation of boiler plan systems
??? Valid BC Driver???s License with a safe driving history.
