The City of Abbotsford is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional with proven skills, energy and leadership for the role of Recreation Programmer.

This temporary assignment is for approximately ten months. Please note shift work is required, including evenings & weekends.

As the Recreation Programmer you are responsible for developing, promoting, leading, supervising and evaluating a wide variety of recreation services, programs and events for all participants. Your strong leadership skills will help you in empowering, selecting, leading, training, mentoring and evaluating a team of recreation staff.

Your excellent communication, organizational, administrative and problem solving skills and abilities, combined with a strong commitment to customer service excellence as well as relevant leadership and recreation supervisory experience are essential.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

??? A diploma in a related discipline
??? Two years??? experience in recreation program development
??? Six months??? experience in community recreation
??? One year supervisory experience
??? Occupational First Aid Level 1
??? CPR Level C Certification
??? A valid BC Driver???s Licence.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $25.95 to $30.53 per hour. In addition the City of Abbotsford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
