Job Description: Reporting to the Parking Services Manager this policy research and administrative position provides support to management in developing new policy and practices, and managing projects to provide data for key decisions.
Duties: As a rapidly growing city, Surrey is developing next generation transportation policies and practices that will meet the needs of a Smart City. Parking Services is tasked with developing many of these in cooperation with other Transportation Division sections. While able to apply the technical aspects of on-street parking management, your focus will be to provide strategic thinking and direction for policy development and implementation of a number of important initiatives, such as:

??? Rationalization of parking ratios for transit oriented development, including cash-in-lieu practices for parking reductions in new developments
??? Parking Supply Analysis for the City Centre
??? A comprehensive City Parking Strategy, supporting the City???s Transportation Strategy
??? Electric Vehicle Charging Policy
??? LRT-associated parking requirements
??? Residential Parking Permit programs
??? Dynamic pricing for metered parking supply
??? Using your knowledge of transportation and parking management you will perform duties in, research, planning, and reporting
??? Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interpret and present complex information to different audiences including professionals and the public. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are able to handle multiple priorities with ambitious timelines
??? Project management
??? Demonstrated ability to conduct research and produce, interpret, and present draft policy
Educational Requirements: Applicants will have the following:

??? a two (2) year diploma in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevant to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution
??? Five years of engineering experience with a demonstrated record of knowledge, skills and ability and supervisory experience in relevant areas of Civil engineering or an equivalent combination of related training and experience
