The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full time Support Clerk to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division.

Reporting to the Manager, Community Development Business Support, in this unionized position you will be primarily responsible for front-line customer service, processing permit and licencing applications, record keeping, and other associated responsibilities. You will provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers; respond to inquiries, requests and complaints by telephone, email, and in person; as well as explain and interpret rules, regulations, and general policies. If you are committed to excellence in customer service, have the ability to manage a variety of tasks with speed and accuracy, and enjoy working in a bustling environment, we want to meet you!

Your education will include completion of grade 12, preferably including or supplemented by commercial and accounting courses. Two years of office experience, preferably in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Sound knowledge of business English, spelling, accounting practices, billing, records keeping, and arithmetic are preferred. The ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees in processing a variety of enquiries, complaints and related matters is required.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $23.61 ??? $27.75 per hour (5 steps, 2015 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7 hours, between 8:00am ??? 5:00pm.
