Our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking a self-motivated and customer service focused Volunteer Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Your high energy, enthusiasm and proven leadership skills will make you an asset to the department. In this exciting position you will engage your community relations and administration skills to develop, plan, and coordinate volunteer services in collaboration with your team and community organizations. Acting as a networking agent in the community you will maximize the use of community resources while identifying volunteer needs and opportunities. Your knowledge of marketing and fundraising techniques, along with your strong communication skills will be beneficial as you build partnerships and seek sponsorship opportunities. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring the volunteer budget, maintaining a variety of reports, records and correspondence along with developing and revising policies, procedures and guidelines governing our volunteer programs. As the Volunteer Coordinator you will have: ??? Diploma in recreation, marketing or social sciences or related field. ??? A minimum of one years??? experience working with volunteers and leading projects in collaboration with volunteers and community agencies. ??? Valid BC Drivers Licence. This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $28.12 per hour to $33.06 per hour (2015 rate).
