The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to 15 auxiliary Recreation Worker IV ??? Lifeguard/Instructors to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture and Parks Division; Recreation Facilities and Programs Department.

The focus of this position is to provide lifeguarding functions as well as instructional duties for a variety of aquatic programs.

Qualified, short-listed candidates will be required to attend a general meeting on Thursday, January 12th from 4:00 ??? 6:30pm, as well as undergo a mandatory practical assessment of skills on Sunday, January 15th from 9:00am ??? 5:00pm.

The following qualifications are required and must be included when applying:

??? Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
??? LSS NL - Pool certification
??? LSS NL ??? Water Park certification
??? Standard First Aid certification
??? CPR Level C certification
??? AED certificate (Automated External Defibrillator)
??? Successful candidates must be a minimum of 17 years

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety) and requires a criminal record check prior to employment start date. The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a criminal record check as a condition of employment (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $21.87 - $25.61 (4 steps; 2015 rates) plus 12.4% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work week.
