We are currently offering an exciting opportunity in our Fire Rescue Service for a highly motivated, service oriented, dynamic leader with proven skills, knowledge and abilities as an Assistant Fire Chief - Operations. Reporting to the Deputy Fire Chief, you will be an integral member of the Fire Service Senior Management team.

The Assistant Fire Chief - Operations will be responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of all Operations Division activities of Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service as well as the effective delivery of services on assigned Operational Suppression Shifts. You will respond to emergency incidents as needed and direct overall site operations. You will also participate as a member of the Incident Command Team, and have considerable interaction with internal and external groups, including Provincial and Federal agencies. You will provide input and guidance on the operational budget, and positively impact the reputation of the Fire Rescue Service while reducing exposure to liability for the City.

As the ideal candidate, you possess:

??? Diploma or Degree in Public or Business Administration or related field, plus completion of a recognized Fire Service Officer Training program, or equivalent combination of training and experience
??? Certification to Level III of the Fire Officers??? Standard, or equivalent
??? Extensive management experience of a progressively responsible nature at a similar level, including comprehensive emergency scene management experience
??? Demonstrated leadership skills in firefighting and rescue operations, employee relations, and budgeting and planning
??? Extensive knowledge, training and practical experience in emergency disaster management and Incident Command Systems
??? Excellent public relations, team building, organization, communication and interpersonal skills
??? Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver???s Licence
