The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular part-time Recreation Worker IV ??? Lifeguard/Instructor to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture and Parks Division; Recreation Facilities and Programs Department. The focus of this position is to provide lifeguarding functions as well as instructional duties for a variety of aquatic programs.

The qualified candidate will have completion of Grade 10, preferably completion of Grade 12 and Pool Operator's and/or Lifesaving Society Instructor courses; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

All qualifications must be valid and current at the time the posting closes and copies MUST be provided with application to be considered for this position:

??? Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
??? LSS NL - Pool certification
??? LSS NL ??? Water Park certification
??? Standard First Aid certification
??? CPR Level C certification
??? AED certificate (Automated External Defibrillator)
??? Successful candidates must be a minimum of 17 years

Qualified, short-listed candidates will undergo a practical assessment of their skills.

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety) and requires a criminal record check prior to employment start date.

The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $21.87 - $25.61 (4 steps; 2015 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday???s and Wednesday???s 12:00 ??? 7:00pm; Thursday 2:30 ??? 10:45pm; Sunday 2:30 ??? 10:15pm; non-standard hours and/or non-standard work week.
