The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular part-time Support Clerk to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Communications Division, Property Services.
Reporting to the Manager, Property Services, you will be responsible in this unionized position to perform routine land title searches and research assistance to the department as well as external and internal clients. This position will be responsible for maintaining property management records, the department filing system and monthly tenant ledgers. You will also provide administrative support which includes typing reports and correspondence as well as other related duties. You must be able to deal with confidential information and be discrete.
This position will appeal to a dynamic, fast-paced, detail-oriented, independent and well-organized individual. Candidates must have completed grade 12 preferably including or supplemented by commercial courses or have an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable related experience as a junior conveyancer or courses in conveyancing along with knowledge and experience in the BC Land Title System is an asset. Experience in a Municipal environment is also an asset.
You are required to have excellent computer and word processing skills including MS Excel, typing speed of 50 wpm, and a sound knowledge of business English. Exceptional team interpersonal skills in addition to strong verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role. Problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for figures and details are required. Superior customer service skills are vital as you are the working with the public, with staff and with external agencies.
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $22.08 - $25.96 per hour (2011 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.
