| Job Description: |
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity in our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department for a dynamic, self motivated professional with proven skills, energy and leadership of a Recreation Programmer.
In this challenging part-time role you are responsible for developing, promoting, leading, supervising and evaluating a wide variety of recreation services, programs and events for all participants including at risk children, youth, and families. The scope of the position includes selecting, leading, training, mentoring and evaluating a team of recreation staff.
Excellent communication, organizational, administrative and problem solving skills and abilities, combined with a strong commitment to customer service excellence as well as relevant leadership and recreation supervisory experience are essential.
Your education includes a diploma in a related discipline such as Recreation, Children & Youth Care, Social Work or Education, plus a minimum 2 years experience in recreation program development including 1 year of supervisory experience in a recreation environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition you must have:
• Current Standard First Aid Certification
• Current CPR Level C Certification
• Valid BC Drivers License
